Not every month has it's own sartorial character but September does. Even if you don't go to school anymore, gingham, plaids, black patent leather mary janes, sweaters, white collars, woodsy greens, apple reds, dark wash jeans and all manner of traditional blouses, when put together inevitably say "fall". I watched Twin Peaks to put me in the mood for fall, it seems I wasn't the only one. Fall was obviously Lynche's favorite season, even though he lives in sunny California. Supposedly, Celia Becker is playing Laura Palmer but I see her as a composite of all the main characters, but mostly Audrey Horne. The last picture in the editorial is from the final episodes. It is also where Twink Peaks and Blue Velvet meet (besides the Kyle Machlachlan playing both leads). That dress is from both. I don't know why Lynch finds velvet so sinister, but I enjoy it. This editorial reminds me of the video H&M put out with Lana Del Rey inspired by Blue Velvet. It was for the spring collection 2013, but I think it would have been equally nice as a fall collection.
