There is something so captivating about this Miharayasuhiro forest print coat. On the one hand it almost looks like camo, on the other hand it reminds me of deep contemplative art like Casper David Friedrich's Abbey, John Atkinson Grimshaw's Moonlights, and Roman Loranc. In other words, my fixation on the silhouettes of trees. I think the true test of a piece is whether is stands out and simultaneously blends in, or not. This confusion is what causes one to think more deeply, rather, on a deeper level, because it is seemingly impossible for something to draw attention to itself and away from itself at the same time. Impossibilities activate the imagination like nothing else. It is one of the most enduring ambitions of art, to limn the impossible.
