Secret Library

This is the back of the bookshelf

All of the libraries I have posted so far have been in chateaus and other equally inaccessible (for most people) places. However today I am sharing a wonderful library I found on The Steampunk Home blog. It's a contemporary secret library that's relatively doable. The first picture is an unassuming bookshelf, then it opens and the rest of the images are of the inside. Please read the full article here

Update:

Here is a more modern style take on this fun concept. Not sure if the room behind the shelf door is a library, people with minimalist style are more inclined to have a digital/electronic/virtual library but it's good that secret rooms are not entirely a thing of the past or people who cling to the past.

  1. I think the ideal library would be a combination of the last three you have posted. It should be secret library that resembles a strategy room with a big table and globes in it, and have a tower of Babylon bookshelf somewhere in it, and perhaps a red velvet chair. Lots of old books on the shelves, and maybe some really old maps along the walls as well, to make it seem as if it was once a secret room where schemes were planned and discussed.
