I want Lana Del Rey to be a success. I want someone interesting to be a big star for once. I don't care how much plastic surgery she had. Her winning songs are strong, she has already learned what works. I expect her to continue to improve. I appreciate her intelligent, carefully succinct "image" that is true to what is actually going on in fashion and art (and music outside of "hip hop world"). She is far better aesthetically informed than anyone who is poised on achieving grand success. I even like her duality and inconsistencies.
Carmen is one of her best songs. This editorial is supposed to capture the fickle, drama-rich nature of love as it is represented both in the opera and her song, which in my opinion is a fair modern day version of the original in terms of content and atmosphere. These are from L'Officiel magazine, photos are by Nicole Nodland. I discovered these on harem of peacocks.
