John W. Russel, "Souvenirs du passé" 1930
I have looked around the Internet and was unable to find information about the artist or the paining. It's easy and dangerous to think that "everything" is on the Internet. From time to time, especially since I have started writing this blog, I have been coming across holes in the Internet, big ones. The responsible thing to do is try to fill them in. I think that it might be one of the noblest things to do in our time, that is, to try to put as much knowledge as possible on the Internet. I don't know anything about this painting but at least it's good to know what I am ignorant of and express it so that someone will hopefully fill me in. It's easy to judge some people for airing their laundry all over the Internet but I think my generation will be remembered as the first to feel a strong sense that we have a responsibility to share information, no matter what it is. Ultimately, this is a good thing.
